Ciao!
Un po' di tempo fa mi sono interessato ai canti "tradizionali" americani, i cosiddetti "canti patriottici". Sul forum e sul sito non ho trovato niente e allora eccomi qui a scrivere qualcosa.
Per tutti quelli a cui potessero interessare... 
I canti patriottici statunitensi sono stati composti durante i secoli. I primi risalgono alla Rivoluzione Americana (ovvio!) mentre gli ultimi risalgono al XX secolo, al periodo della Guerra del Golfo... a un passo da qui, quindi.
Ve ne propongo qui uno, quello che ritengo il più importante: l'inno degli Stati Uniti. Man mano che ne troverò, li riporterò, se credete sia una cosa buona.
L'inno statunitense si intitola "The Star-Spangled Banner". Ecco il testo completo:
O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.

In genere, l'inno non viene cantato interamente, ma vengono eseguite una (la prima) o due strofe (la prima e l'ultima, per esempio).

Apprezzo molto l'iniziativa Sam, come ti avevo detto in privato!! 
Però mi hai beccato l'unico che avevamo trattato!! 
Scherzo!!  Però, per chi volesse approfondire, sull'inno abbiamo sia la storia che il testo con la traduzione (che andrebbe rivista, perché contiene qualche errore di troppo!)...
Comunque, la statua della libertà che canta l'inno è una figata!! 
Per il resto, segnalate tutti i canti che conoscete, magari si riesce a tirare fuori un bell'articolo su questo argomento!

Accidenti! 
Rimedio subito con un altro canto, più recente, datato 1984.
E riproposto poi dopo l'11 settembre e nel 2003.
E' "God bless the USA" di Lee Greewood.
Ne esistono diverse versione, con alcune (piccole) modifiche al testo.
Vi riporto quella originale con tanto di video (dedicato all'11 settembre, ma su Youtube si trova anche il video originale):

E dopo l'inno e God Bless America, non poteva mancare America The Beautiful! 
Ho letto che molti la preferirebbero all'inno nazionale, per la facilità di esecuzione e di canto (sappiamo bene tutti quanto sia difficile cantare The Star Spangled Banner ).
Comunque sia, questa canzone segue spesso l'inno nazionale in occasioni di eventi sportivi o ricorrenze.

E dopo l'inno e God Bless America, ... Ehm, no, quella di prima è "God Bless the USA". 
"God Bless America" è stata scritta nel 1918 (e rivista nel 1938) da Irving Berlin.
Questo è il testo:
God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
Originariamente, "God Bless America" è stata cantata da Kate Smith; ecco il video con la sua voce:

Altro giro, altro canto.
L'ultimo postato è stato "God Bless America".
Ebbene, pare che "God Bless America" sia servito come "ispirazione" a un altro canto patriottico, ovviamente più recente.
Il titolo è "This Land Is Your Land".
Il compositore è Woodie Guthrie che l'ha scritto nel 1940 proprio come risposta a "God Bless America", che trovava irrealistico e compiacente.
Questo canto è stato poi pubblicato negli anni '50 con qualche modifica rispetto alla versione originale.
Inoltre, successivamente, è stato modificato per essere cantato in diversi Stati, fuori dagli USA.
Ecco il testo:

I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me

Altro canto, che ho trovato molto simpatico. 
Si intitola "Fifty Nifty United States" ed è stato composto da Ray Charles.

Ok, adesso ci sono.
Quello che dici tu è l'inno ufficiale del Presidente degli Stati Uniti, che si chiama "Hail to the Chief".
Generalmente, viene solo suonato:
Alcune (rare!) volte, viene anche cantato. Questo è il testo:
Hail to the Chief we have chosen for the nation,
Hail to the Chief! We salute him, one and all.
Hail to the Chief, as we pledge cooperation

Avevo letto il post di Vince ma non riuscivo ad associarlo a nessun motivo famoso. 
E dire che lo conoscevo anche questo!!
Comunemente viene anche chiamato "Presidential March", non a caso!
Comunque, questo topic è una forza, continua così!
